Women in Technology – Women’s role in information technology 👩‍💻

What goes on in your mind when someone says about the role of Women in Technology –

Well the ratio is quite less compared to men specially in Tech world. But we can see that changing in current senerios and as current forbes list of “World’s Most Powerful Women in Tech 2017” contains 18 women tech leaders. Women are still in the minority in Tech, they hold only 24% of computer science jobs, down from 37% in 1995, and occupy roughly 11% of executive positions.

Sitting at the top of “FORBES” tech list for the sixth year in a row (and in the No. 4 position on the overall FORBES Most Powerful Women list) is Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Being a girl (Girl in technology) i do aspire to become a teacher and will love teaching technology as well as different programming languages. Its good when one woman helps another, amazing things can happen. Professional careers do leap forward & that’s what Women in Technology is all about. Being a women in the technology industry, I understand the unique challenges one faces.

Considering Microsoft: In October, the company reported that women comprise 29.1 percent of its workforce,

but only 16.6 percent work in technical positions and just 23 percent hold leadership roles.

Twitter says women fill 10 percent of its technical jobs, with 21 percent in leadership. Women Googlers account for 17 percent of the search giant’s tech jobs, while only 21 percent manage others.

Women in Tech activities do aim to discuss how women could have a larger role in creating success stories in business and technology.

    It’s not really about asking for the raise but knowing and having faith that the system will actually give you the right raises as you go along

In Asia, women are flexing their entrepreneur muscles like never before. According to a study, half of internet startups in China are bring run by women.
