This merger comes as a shock for me also being a user of Saavn Music App, I am writing up this only after spotting JioSaavn Music App in Play Store.

Although there is not much change in it, most features are the same as before. But with a new JioSaavn branding, The Company also claims that there are more than 45 million tracks, some of which are exclusive. The app size is 79 MB and it can only run on iOS 8.0 and above, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
This app has also been updated on the Google App Store too.
Reliance while announcing the deal in march mentioned that the company will invest up to $100 million of which a sum of $20 million will be invested immediately, for “growth and expansion of the platform into one of the largest streaming services in the world.
Speaking on the launch of the app Jio director Aakash Ambani said that in music streaming industry, JioSaavn will prove to be a turning point. JioSaavn will be the largest streaming platform in India soon with Jio Digital Infrastructure and large userbase.

Reports have also suggested that the new change log of the Jio Saavn app version 6.1 on apple’s app store reveals that the app will be free for all Jio users.
Jio music subscribers can also access their playlists as well as downloads on the JioSaavn app. Coming to the JioSaavn Free Subscription, it is available for all Reliance Jio prepaid as well as postpaid users.
